Family Medicine Residency Program
Mission:
The mission of the AllianceHealth family medicine residency program is to train physicians to care for rural communities in a range of settings, from frontline responder to inpatient and outpatient care.
The AllianceHealth Durant family medicine residency program is an unopposed community-based program, affiliated with Oklahoma State University. In 2021, the program received Continued Accreditation status from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Residents receive strong practice-based training in family medicine, yet also receive concentrated and highly supported training in inpatient adult medicine, as well as emergency medicine.
Family medicine residents enjoy benefits of a great patient diversity and volume in the following areas: family medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, emergency medicine, ICU/PCU, general surgery, pediatrics, pathology, radiology and orthopedics. Residents are able to primarily complete their outpatient training through a partnership with the Durant Family Medicine Clinic.
The program has a core group of dedicated clinical and academic faculty. In 2022 the program welcomed a new program director and assistant program director. Dr. Terry Gerard and Dr. Amanda Hale, respectively, are graduates of the program and bring a wealth of previous experience, as well as dedication to the program.
Applications for the resident programs are accepted through ERAS.
